Hi All - I wonder if the design engineer of Portofino Chrono 2011 would agree that there is a serious design fault in the design of the hour-hand(ie slim long leaf-shape)? I've bought this watch for 3 weeks now and it is extremely difficult for watch user to read the hour time due the usually long hour-hand when it is overlapping with the hour marker(ie a straight line). No gap in btwen wben the hour-hand points at the hour-marker, makes it almost impossible to read the time at one-glance.
To prove my point, I've compared it with the older model but such problem do not exist simply because the hour-hand is designed shorter and there is a gap btwn the hour-hand and the hour marker(ie a straight line) when the hour-hand points to the hour marker.
One can always counter argue that it is deliberate "design feature" but I don't believe that IWC would deliberately design a watch that fails the test of legibility and fanciness of design supersedes the key functionality of a watch.
Can IWC take my comment seriously and provide me with response? Thank you.

Hi CW, here are your pics: I can see your point about the hands, in particularly the minute hand, overlapping with the hour marker. However, to be honest, I could tell the time clearly. When telling minute time I look to the minute hand and the minute marker at the edge, un-distracted by the hour marker.

Sorry for the previous replays, but it seemed taht the connection did not work very well. Coming back to the subject I agree with you, concerning the reading of hours and minutes, in some cases you get confused. Regards
I understand your point, but I always have some idea of the time due to context. As such, if it's in the morning I'll know it's 7:05 or then 8:05 when I look at the watch, and not say 1:40 pm as in the latter case. To me that is instinctive but I can imagine some others getting confused.

Let me know if you have a sharp eyes and got the answer right at the first instance....:)
If not, IWC design engineer has lots of follow-up work to do.... :)
Thanks for showing and hopefully IWC comments on this problem.
