A pilot does not need to have the date/day of the week/month/year available every time he looks at the watch. All a pilot needs from a watch is to be able to have readable information - hour, minutes and center seconds. A pilot's watch must also be a-magnetic, to be protected from the many magnetic fields generated by the flight instruments and equipment. The Mark 11 is the standard.Now; if you want a fantasy based on the the pilot watch theme, then, by all means get a display back BPW with a perpetual calendar, in a precious metal.
