I used to think it was clever to confuse comedy with tragedy. Now I wish I could distinguish them. John le Carré

IWC pocket watches kept Italian, and French trains from colliding. IWC deck watches kept exact time to help the German and UK navies navigate with precision through the oceans. IWC wristwatches kept exact time to help the Luftwaffe, the RAF, the RAAF, the RNZAF, the SAAF, and the BOAC navigate with precision through the air, and helped Sir Edmond Hillary navigate by land to the South Pole. An IWC was the camera clock in the weapons system of the English Electric Lightning. IWC wristwatches also synchronized the UK Army. Altogether a remarkable record, which is now complete, unless Adrian has still something up his sleeve. Many thanks Adrian for enriching us all on vintage IWC "tool" watches.
