Thanks Michael - great to know.

I can certainly respect IWC's position of protecting it's copyrights. Do you think IWC would agree to allow these informative wookbooks to be part of the "Collectors Forum" section?
It would be a "special benefit" reserved for signed in members. Since it appears the content in these workbooks would not violate propriatory information and IWC would have full control, I think forum members would appreciate access to these reference materials.
BTW, thank you for offering to provide us with Wookbook info. as an alternative option.
At your convienence...does the current wookbook for the AT - Ref. 3568 list it's weight "with and without" a bracelet?

Michael,
Did you discuss this with IWC? And if so, what did they think about the workbooks being part of the forum?

Since this entire forum is available without signing in, it will be indexed by Google, Yahoo, Bing and all other search engines available.
This way, IWC won't be able to control access to the content anymore so I seriously doubt they will make workbooks available here as part of the Forum.

I was thinking that "Workbooks" could be a section of the upcoming FAQ/Glossary development. As far as I can tell from looking at a workbook together with my AD, nothing appears to be proprietary. Actually, I believe that having access to this material would stimulate revenue for IWC. Imagine being able to find the model/s that peak your interest along with all the options available ( i.e. straps/bracelets, buckles, etc. ) with reference numbers. It would be a bit like building your perfect look.
Signing in as a member would be a requirement. Recognizing that anybody can become a member, viewing a wookbook not containing classified information I don't feel would be of any harm. Anyone presently can take official IWC postings and copy/doctor them for whatever good/bad purpose. Workbook access would be more like a membership "Exclusive" benefit and overall web-site upgrade.

I understand the copyright issues, but on the other hand I do not see how IWC is harmed by providing the older workbooks.
Asking on this forum seems a complicated work-around to me.

Kind regards,

And, as far as I'm concerned, more parts of the forum should be members only.

The 3568 weighs 210g on a steel bracelet and 145g on a rubber strap.
I don't have a weight for the watch head only.

Leo,
My sincere appreciation for the reply. As usual, you are a wealth of information.
