Dear Community,
just an hour ago I visited my AD to leave with her a down-payment for something which will take a few month until I get it. Yes, it is an IWC, and I promise I will let you know as soon as I get it what it is:-)
Looking at the shop-window I saw this one, and asked to dress it: An Ingenieur Plastiki, one out of 1000. Very nice, but not my taste.
But then, another look at the window ... Wow, what's that? Incredible. Nice. Marvellous. May I dress it? Holding it in my hands I already felt that energy moving from this incredible timepiece into my body. But then, as soon as I had it on my wrist, I felt enlightened. I felt full of energy. I felt the energy from the Tourbillon movement jumping into my body. I kept seated there for about 10 min, quite, just staring at this small little thing, moving so elegantly, and at the same time so powerful. A question to the collectors community: Do you ever dressed or own such a Tourbillon? Is this the standard feeling you have when you look at that little tiny thing? Or am I simply completely crazy or ill?

giovanni,
you are definitely not crazy. there's definitely some energy transfer going on somehow... combined with the excitement/adrenaline running through the body in handling such a masterpiece!
thanks for sharing and look forward to the post of your new IWC next month!
regards, thang
p.s. if you hold the tourbillon up to your ear - it actually also hums very quietly... "buy me.... buy me..." =)

Giovanni - I have never tried on a Tourbillon, well, scratch that, I did try on the Siderale at SIHH...but that is another story.
What I really wanted to say is that what you experienced is just a normal IWC uhren-virus attack, and it is completely normal for us IWC Forum hang-arounds. As a matter of fact what you describe is exactly what happened to me when I first saw the Portuguese Perpetual Calender - and a few weeks later it was mine :o)
Good luck - and just enjoy the sensations, it is part of what makes life worth living!

Wow Skule, wish I had the cojones like you to see the PPC and simply own it few weeks later. It's been months since I tried on the Midnight Blue PPC at a boutique... and sadly the prospect of owning it is still ages away. Oh well... time to go back to staring at pictures only!
Giovanni, hope the Tourbillon left enough of an impression that someday it'll be permanently on your wrist soon!

Giovanni, I had the same experience when I tried on a Tourbillon...sheer excitement! The first one I ever saw "in the metal" was our esteemed MF's beauty. I couldn't take my eyes off of it, and Michael was kind enough to let me strap it to my wrist. Thanks for the photos of both the Plastiki (one of my personal favorites) and the gorgeous Tourbillon!
Best regards, Jim

I have the earlier version of this watch, which is a Regulateur Tourbillon. And of course it is the most special watch in my collection. But I wear it all the time. It's meant to be worn and it's held up just fine to every day wear.
Almost no one recognizes what it is. I still am mesmerized by the revolutions of the tourbillon. I can watch that forever.

Giovanni, my dear Friend - I fear gravely that I shall need at very short notice need to agree with you on some guiding principles.
All of which, related to your general well being.
The first of which we would need to agree on, is that thy shall never ever again step into any IWC AD without myself accompanying you on such visits, to ensure that there is no repeat of such occurances as you outline below.
You are clearly young man, a danger unto yourself (and your bank balance!).
Fantastic post Giovanni, and I look forward to "the reveal" you refer to here. If it's the piece I believe I know which - and the one we discussed you most certainly have made a good choice.

Congratulations Giovanni on taking a decision on your next IWC and I look forward to you sharing the news later here. I did so badly in the guessing last time - I hope I can improve.
I have had the pleasure to be mesmerized for a few minutes when wearing a tourbillon but sadly each ocassion was interrupted by someone wanting their watch back !
