A NYC IWC Flagship Boutique has been a dream not only for IWC, but also for many USA collectors. Now the dream is a reality. My wish has come true. Last week, IWC invited IWC Collectors’ Forum members to an evening in the Boutique. Several of us also had a GTG after the Opening gala in the Boutique. Nad has posted a remarkable collection of pictures and comments on the evening. I humbly add a few more snapshots of the weekend in the Big Apple. Personally, I want to sincerely thank IWC and the local IWC Management and Boutique personnel for inviting us into their home. We were treated like family.
The IWC NYC Boutique is the largest of the Worldwide IWC Flagship stores. And what a magnificent place it is. It is a warm and inviting environment for visitors. It’s like coming into a friend’s living room. It’s like no other. The staff, selected by management for not only their sales skills, but also for their passion for fines IWC timepieces, treated us like the family, not just customers. The staff has been expertly trained in the history and tradition of IWC and its marvelous watches. Kudos to Gianfranco, President of IWC North America, and Noreen MacDonald, NYC Boutique Manager for hosting us on Saturday. They are building a remarkable relationship with collectors and I am sure with anyone who ventures into the Boutique.
Most of us arrived on Saturday morning to begin the adventure. A few of us visited a couple of larger watch retailers and then stopped for a brief lunch, before heading to the Grand Opening event at the Boutique.
Here’s our shopping contingent in a large retailer in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria hotel. We did more window-shopping than anything else. Some of the new Pilot’s watches had just arrived the day before.
Nad making a point, but what?
Four of the group decided to show off their ceramic IWC as we debated where to go to lunch:
Kevin J just picked up his new Laureus Chronograph the day before and was proudly showing it to one and all.
Marching off to lunch.
Nad did such a remarkable job covering the Boutique gala that I will only show a few shots taken during the two hours we were the special guests of IWC.
People shots:
Gianfranco d'Attis, MF, and Roland Iten
Kevin J, Nad, and Arnaud Pinel, USA Boutique Manager
Oliver Siegle and Daniel Kremens
David, docfink, trying out the flight simulator with his wife as co-pilot.
Kevin J, Alan Ross, Nad, and Daniel Kremens
Whichwatch's back of head, Daniel Kremens, and Evan Nanos
Mark, Terry Russell, whichwatch, and Kevin J
Oliver Siegle and Nelson Herring
Alan Ross, Nad and Mr. and Mrs. Docfink
Oliver and Kevin
Mark L. and Terry Russell
Mark, how big was the one that got away?
A very neat display of the AT’s
Some of the special watches
The one that attracted much attention, especially by Alan: BP DFB
Like your eggs sunnyside up?
After the show and tell a select group of Collectors’ enjoyed a mini GTG over dinner in a very fine Italian Restaurant, Fresco by Scotto, just a couple of blocks away from the Boutique.
The group shot with watches shown and not….
The rest of the evening:
Gianfranco welcoming us before dinner:
Nelson Hering and David Polakoff
Just two food shots, I forgot to shoot pics of dessert, which was to die for.
What's for dinner?
The highlight of the evening was the mandatory table shot of our beloved IWC’s
The walk home after a wonderful evening together.
NYC at night.
I am sure I speak for all of the lucky attendees at the NYC GTG by saying I am honored to be a part of the Collectors Forum and to have the opportunity to share my passion with so many other likeminded people. Thanks again to IWC, the IWC USA and NYC Team, and MF for making this possible for all of us.

Bill, Thanks for the photos. Makes us all feel a part of the memorable opening and the excitement surrounding it. The watches, the boutique, the smiles... no doubt a special time.
Perhaps one day something like this can open up here in London!
