There is a huge amount about the history of these watches in the archives here (upper right magnifying glass will get you there). But they weren't called "Big Pilot's Watches" historically: try for B-Uhr, calibre 52T, Calibre 52 S.C., possibly even Beobachteruhren. I think you'll find many photos and much information, including how many were made.
However.. This has sparked a lot of interest in me today.. I was curious if anyone can share some history on these old Big Pilots...
I've read pretty much all of the published information, but, was curious how may were produced and how common are they to still find today?
Any photo's people could share would be thrilling for me as I'm both an aviation buff and an IWC enthusiast..
