May I ask what exactly is the metal on the pin buckle that comes with the 2012 Aquatimer Chrono RG (IW3769-05)?
The 2011/12 catalogue (on page 176) says it is a steel pin buckle. I have seen pictures of the IW3769-03 with the white sub dial, the pin buckle on that watch looks rose gold (or at least rose gold plated steel) to me.
Can anyone confirm what should I expect on the pin buckle if I ordered the watch from an AD today? Steel, rose gold plated steel or solid rose gold? Thanks. Much appreciated.

Hi Blue, Website says "stainless steel" but I admit it looks like rose gold. Do you have easy access to an AD? If not, I can check it out here in Schaffhausen if you want.

The catalog apparently has an error. I checked the dealers' workbook, and this reference in red gold uses buckle IWA38760, which is solid 18k red gold. IWC does not use gold-plating or filling on anything today.

Thank you Michael.
As Tom pointed out, IWC web site also has the same incorrect info regarding the buckle. I also noticed the enlarged image of the watch on the web page is of the IW3769-03 with the white sub dial, not the current IW3769-05. Thanks.

Ok so this is sorted out already it seems. Needless to say that pictures of your purchase, whenever that happens, are more than welcome.

I should have checked the german version of the website as well, it is "precious metal" there, which is correct as it seems, just the english version refers to stainless steel.

Thank you Tom. I'll definitely post pics when ready.
