Hi All,
In the theme of an AA meeting, Hi, my name is Ben and im a junkie.
I currently own 5 IWC's with my most recent purchase being only 2 months ago - a beautiful 666AD. At that point I said no more watches this year (I thought I was being realistic in saying "this year" knowing full well that something would happen next year) and I thought I had kicked the habit, but recently I have stumbled across another IWC time piece that I covet.
I was sitting here this morning getting ready for work and thought again "What a beautiful watch, I really NEED this watch" at which point I realised the large difference between want and need and that I now must class my self as a junkie - I dont just want this watch, I NEED it!
I am still exercising great control at present and have not purchased this watch but I know I am fighting a losing battle and eventually I will give into the inevitable - who else would be able to hold out on a IWC, in white gold with an Ardoise dial and a different to the norm movement / way of telling time, a watch that IWC no longer makes - I am not going to go into full details yet because I know that unless someone else buys this watch I will buy it in the near future and need to save a little of the description for then but I am sure plenty of you can probably guess what it will be.
I am not looking for support in witholding from this next purchase, but I feel that a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders by my admission that I am a junkie with a habit and I hope others out there can benefit form my admission - if you too think you may also be a junkie and suffer from this horrible affliction, we as a community are here for you and can comfort you through the highs and the lows :)
Cheers ,
Ben

I hear you Ben, loud and clear. I prefer the more usually used term "Virus", that makes it sound like we caught it unknowingly of the consequences and maybe, in the distant future, a cure will be found.
Kind regards,
Clemens (who stayed up late for a IWC related moment in time :-)

Before I went to college and took Psych 101 I couldn't even spell enabler, and now I am one!
Hmm, I was still thinking what model Ben was referring to while I wrote my post. I guess Dick needs a vaccin even harder than I do but maybe that's because I just had a "fix" :-)

You have hit the nail on the head Dick - I think that is a simply stunning watch - with the emphasis on simple - it draws together a lot of elements that produce a great time piece - precious metal case, beautiful dial, hand wound and simple and concise readability.
I will obviously post an update if an when I do get one, it is looking more and more likely at the moment!
Regards,
Ben

Best of luck acquiring your next fix!
