Please note that the JLC Mark XI uses Caliber 478 not 488 as written in the article to which I've send as a link.
Are you sure? :)
Please take note of the serial number of the first picture of the link you've posted. Consider also, Zaf Basha is the only one, to my knowledge, able to reproduce a reliable JLC's serial number chart.
Don't consider what's engraved in the second movement, it's a civilian version, with parechoc, swan neck and one more jewel, in short, something richer for wealthy customers, not agrestic soldiers :)

But if you mean the Mk VII (6B/159), this watch had a central sweep second, a white dial initially and a black dial and stainless steel case from 1956 onwards. Kind regards, Adrian. (alwaysiwc) p.s. I am glad you did not hold your breath on the question about the price for the new IWC extracts. You would have ended up in an irreversible coma (=:
Hi Adrian, You are right, as usual. I engaged my fingers before engaging (what is left of) my brain. Back to my dementia, to quote Bill. :-)
Hi Antonio,
for your health, to avoid thinking about the new extract prices :) RAF Omegas: thin, fat and Mk VII on blue surgery tissue = septic ;-)
RAF Mk11: on green surgery tissue = antiseptic = higher classified, of course :-)

Incredible collection Hajo! I wonder how you got all these masterpieces. I know of a silly collector who sold an important part of his military collection to a German collector of military watches. This is no place to mention names, but if you got these watches through him, you are lucky and he is a bit disturbed, to put it gently. Congratulations, Adrian. (alwaysiwc)

Hi Hajo, Excellent collections. Congrats. Ballpark, if I decided to get the Certificate of Authenticity for all my IWCs, I would become over €10K poorer. I can get a good vintage for that money. :) Obviously, not all vintage IWCs justify the investment, but some clearly do, and the Mark 11s are at the forefront. Although I am not holding my breath (no risk od hypoxia here) I still would love to have an answer to my query about the need, or not, of resending to Schaffhausen, watches that have already been there for overhaul and/or to be certified as authentic.

Tony,
Everyone and their grandmother at IWC (and other firms)is on vacation until September so exhale and I bet you get your answer then.
Thanks for the link. This is a tremendously informative article. A must read for anyone interested in Pilot watches. Fascinating to say the least.
One question...do you own the white dial version pictured and discussed in the article?
