Hi,
will the above work? The question has been asked before and someone mentioned the part numbers are different. They are different because the construction and design is different. But will they fit? Has anyone tried this?

Greetings,
Lugg size ....yes
However, it needs to be tested to see if the shape/curve of the integrated end is flush with the XVI case.
The XVII is 2mm larger and the case might be sloped differently. Been meaning to try it with my XVI, but my AD has only had a few in so far and they are sold faster than I can get down to try. On my "things to do list".

Reliable? Absolutely! In fact, it is the most accurate piece in my collection. Many discussions on it's ETA 2492-A2 modified movement, reliability and robustness in the archive's ( magnifying glass located in upper black bar ). The movement has been refered to as a "workhorse" and our Forum moderator Michael, has commented it is regarded as one of the best movements in the industry.
Nothing but high praise for the Mark XVI, my first IWC. No issues what so ever. Plenty of enjoyment !
Wear it with good health. Show us some pic's if possible. Many MARK fans on the Forum would appreciate it.

Thanks Andy for your very informative response.I am new to the Forum so am finding the discussions fasinating. I am not too hot on the computer so will ask my son how I can get some images put on? I used to own a Rolex and Omega planet ocean, bought an IWC Mark XV many years ago and loved the simplicity and quality so have bought the Mark XV1 new and am delighted so far, have only had it two weeks! I prefer the new hands on the Mrk XV1 because they remind me of the IWC big watch, which alas is a little too expensive for me!!

Agreed...new (propeller looking) hands were IMO a nice change. Much more legible and better lume. Hands design consistent throughout Pilot line. Designers must have been satisfied also as they were carried over to the new 2012 Pilot launch.
I also like to refer to the XVI as the BP Jr. Just look at the XVI(son) in the "Father & Son" set. The addition of a onion crown and BP strap just reeks BIG PILOT. In fact, there has a number of comments that the perfect BP would be without the PR sub-dial, or in other words, a BIG Mark XVI. Everyone has their own idea of a perfect watch.
Happy to hear that your new XVI is bringing so much enjoyment.
