I have a pilot double chrono and was wondering if one can change the leather strap with something a big more water proof for those active days ( maybe a bracelet or a Black soft strap)
I'm not sure which model you have, but most have a width between the lugs of 21mm. You can measure carefully yourself, and order a waterproof strap of the same dimensions from a third-party supplier or a bracelet from IWC. Your dealer can help.

The black rubber strap for a 3902 should fit your watch but you will have to buy a buckle too as they aren't interchangeable. Mention this to your IWC dealer when ordering. Leo

Hi Leo,
Just confirming...the 3902 rubber strap with "integrated end" will fit flush with 3778 case. I like that strap and find that pairing a interesting match.

Hi Andy, I haven't seen them offered up to each other but it's definitely on our interchangeability list along with 5009,5019 and others. Of course these are all new models so the list may yet be revised. Leo

Hi Michael,
I'm looking for a summer strap myself. And I would just love it, if IWC could not online present the watch collection, but also the strap collection on this web site.
Would make things IMO much more easy, if one could have a look before going to the AD.

Leo,
As always, thanks for the prompt reply. "Interchangeability List" ? WOW, that would be a great addition to the IWC site. Bavarian_Peter's post suggests a simular view. I'm sure many would appreciate looking at a watch Ref. number and viewing all the straps/bracelets available for their model. And how cool would it be to "build" your look on line? Bet many a strap would be purchased if all options could be compared.

Leo, are you saying the 3902 strap will fit neatly on the 5004/09 ? The gentleman at HK airport boutique mentioned it but I had never even considered it...but curious given the humidity here in Singapore.

Hi Michael, Please take my previous post as an indication of possibilities rather than gospel. This sort of info is forever being revised/updated. I think the pilots would look fantastic on the rubber strap but make sure you 'try before you buy'. Leo

Thanks for the feedback. I am certainly curious now more than ever but wondering how the angle of the strap from the 3902 will sit given the lugs are pretty long on the BP and I don't need the overhang. Hope it will rake down so will still fit a not huge wrist comfortably. Will let you know if I take the plunge.
Thanks
C
