Dear experts, i'm trying to identify a vintage IWC watch for insurance reasons so ill be happy to get an estimated price as well. The watch is 18k gold, it doesn't have a year stamp but i'm guessing its from about the 60's. There are serial numbers on the inside of the cover - 1994751 R251. 2 pictures links are attached. From the picture it looks like a cal 89 manual wind, but you'll need to check the movement number to confirm that. Use this applet to check: http://moeb.on-rev.com/dyIWC/dyIWC.irev You can look at chrono24 for dealer prices & watch auctions for auction prices. If it is a cal 89 it's a super movement but even an 18ct version îs not worth a large amount.

Thank you very much for your help. the moeb site says its: The movement is a calibre 44, dating from the year 1970. The case was most probably produced resp. delivered around 1885.
I couldn't get the 1885 thing right... Also, if i compare to images of cal 89 it looks much more similar then to the cal 44 ones... do you think its possible that the site is wrong?

for the modern movements and wristwatches (up to late 90s) I doubt dateyouriwc MOEB is wrong.
did you say in your original post above that the casing number is 1994751 ? if so then MOEB says "The case was most probably produced around 1970 and delivered up to 1973." but it would be best to reconfirm this number.
to determine the casing and movement numbers, what will help are closeup pics of both, with the numbers. if you could post them that would be great (see below instructions).
also, a IWC ref 521, circa 1957, looks like this:
which matches your dial and case I believe.

Master SHING, Thank you very much for your effort to help. I tried to take a photo of the numbers but i cant seem to get a sharp image... The numbers are, for sure: 1994751 R521 do you think it is possible that the design is from 1957 but the mechanism is from 1970?

and this the casing number is 1189097 in this example:

Thank you very much guys. Im sorry for feeding you wrong info but now i know better.... The movement number is 1932561. It is an 89 cal and they say its from 1969:
The movement is a calibre 89, dating from the year 1969. The case was most probably produced around 1970 and delivered up to 1973.
Also, can you estimate the value of this watch for two purposes: 1. Insurance 2. Possible sell

What is needed as Shing points out is the movement number, so far you have provided the case number and the reference number.
The movement number on your watch should be in the following section of the movement.
The movement number, when used with Date Your IWC, will give the year the movment was produced.
