Today I was reading through some old forum posts and came across one in which our esteemed colleague Shing stated that it's a good idea to send a watch in for service just before the end of the two-year warranty. That got me thinking about the IWC policy on such things. For example, if it's really routine maintenance, is it covered by the warranty and therefore at no charge? Is it necessary that the watch have a problem in order to do this or can it be entirely routine? Can one simply get a watch regulated under IWC's warranty?

If you suspect something may be wrong you can send it in and if anything covered under warranty is amiss then you will be covered. But I would not do it unless you suspect or have a problem.

I think a service is not under warranty, unlesss something is wrong. But then again, IWC always does an intake on every watch send in, and if there are costs (other then under warranty) they give an estimate of the costs. In my experience that is always in balance (noet extreem expensive or cheap). Good luck Bas Dekkers
Color me curious...
Best regards,
