Dear Everyone,
I hope my question isn't too stupid but... I've seen the 3706 referred to as Fliegerchronograph as well as Spitfire Chronograph Automatic, but with the same reference number. I'm assuming it's the same watch? Why the different designations?
I've set upon the 3706 as my first IWC, so I'd like to know as much about it as possible.
Thanks!

3706 is only the first four digits
Each model variation actually has 6 numbers --for example
the classic 3706 with strap and German dial is IW370601 the classic 3706 with bracelet and English dial is IW370607 the Spitfire 3706 with strao and English diela is IW370613
for real differences are the dials and hands, the straps, and the newer movements (eventually) will be rhodium plated instead of gold plated. Cases and movements otherwise are the same.

I see; thanks!
thanks for the info. i was a bit confused because there's a spitfire and a classical pilot's watch with what appeared to be the same reference number... but as you said they aren't the same reference number at all.

Hi, has anyone chanced upon a 370623? its suppose to be a spitfire automatic chronograph? I can't find much info on this model, but saw a piece available recently. Wondering how i can tell if it's genuine.
