Today I stopped by my AD, to see if a pocket watch that had been sent off to Schaffhausen, had been returned yet.
When my AD said No, and invited me to take a seat I knew I was in for a surprise.
Knowing that I typically do not / have not worn yellow and rose gold pieces in the past, he has decided that 2013 should be my "Year of Gold" and ensuring I was comfortable with a decent expresso in my hand, put these two pieces on the table in front of me.
Can you imagine my surprise? Yes, I saw briefly one of the 888 pieces of the YEAR OF THE DRAGON WATCH, in Singapore recently at the Boutique there - but I was not out shopping and briefly gave it a glance. now today, there it was in my hands, in all it's glory - and I must say, its a magnificent watch.
Then this battle of the dials - as the Ardoise winks up at me.... ...only to be outdone bybthat magnifcent Brown dial with gold indices in my other hand. both rose gold watches - but the different dial colors make them look like very different watches.
Thank goodness we all need to wait for Kevin to announce "the new year" before we can start to make such difficult desicions as to which one is nicer!
It's a tough choice, but, IMHO the brown dial is really something else. And it should go beautifully with blue suits.
Cheers!
Regards,
Jeronimo

both are beautiful, even for me who doesn't warm up to yellow, rose or red gold.
good to see both pieces available around the world. I am looking forward to the AMG Ingenieur and the new red gold, brown dial 5001 on the right of Mark's pic, to arrive in HK. Ordinarily, I would have expected them to be here in HK Flagship by now.

Dear Mark,
as an Italian, and therefore by nature having the design and style DNA, allow me to tell you that brown, especially such a shiny gold brown, fits perfectly with blue and grey suits:-) Remember the combination of blue suits with brown shoes (which by the way was invented by Italians). Looking at your picture, I have immediately the feeling that this brown dial timepiece would perfectly fit your personality: serious, experienced, elegant and at the same time shiny, and in a very pleasant way extravagant and crazy. That watch IS YOU my dear friend.

Ahhh, you romantic Italians. And here I was thinking of suggesting to Mark: "cool watch". You do have a way with words! :-)
Mark, however it is phrased, I have to agree. The gold/brown dial is beautiful and I'd love to see a wrist shot! Especially on your wrist!

They are beautiful, glad I don't have to make a choice between them,
thanks for posting.
By the way, see my response to Giovanni's dilemma, my calendar now says 2013. LOL
Glad you had a great diving trip.
