I wrote about this recent fleabay acquisition in a different discussion:

I just got it back from my watchmaker who replaced the dingy old dial with a nearly new one (look at the fresh lume) that was probably outsourced somewhere by IWC. This new dial was purchased from a contact in Europe. My watchmaker also re-satinized part of the case and relumed the old hands. Thought you folks might want to take a look. This watch runs 6 sec/day fast. Also please note that the scratchy areas at minutes 32,33,34 are actually scratches in the crystal.
It'll never be a very collectible watch given it's condition and recent changes, but that wasn't the original intention. It was bought to be worn and so far it's been a very comfortable old baby that just seems to look "right" on my wrist.
Please note that on one of the "old dial" pictures I red circled a tiny notch which I've been told in the past is a re-dialer's footprint
So, I just hope you enjoy it very much for a long time to come!
Cheers!
Regards,
Jeronimo
Omar Khayyám (Persia XI-XII Century) offered that Time should not only be measured in length but also in width due to the intrinsic difference between a minute or other depending on what is happening to the beholder... I wonder how a watch would look like...
That is sweet. Now if this had been a Rolex forum there would be an out cry now! So i take it that there will be no lunch mobs out if a vintage watch gets relumed to bring it back to its former best and usefull ness?

Hi Andy,
I think there will be plenty of people here too that don't agree with this intervention but if your goal is to wear and enjoy the watch, this new dial and lume make it much more agreeable!

No one is going to lynch you here, for saving that Inge from being tucked-away in a draw for the rest of the sad life it was leading.
Now, it's a good looking watch that is going to get lots of wrist time and be noticed by those "in the know". You in turn, will enjoy every moment that its on your wrist and/or bedside table!

So well done, and wear it in good health.
