Dear master,
I'm a newbie here and got my first IWC recently.Portuguese 7 days, it's awesome and beautiful.
However,I found the edge of strap has been scratch and I think the strap is not as good as my another watch strap. After checking, I consider it is the deployant buckle scratch it. Because when I tie up the my watch, the buckle (not the pin side)is too narrow for the strap and it hurt/ scratch the strap on the edge.
Master, any experience or idea about this? Or how can you fix this problem?
Thanks for your reply in advance.
Ray

Hello Ray,
First of all, welcome here to the forum. As for your question: do youmhave a picture? My first thought ismthat you might need a shorter strap but without further details I can't be absolutely sure about this.

Hi Ray,
I have had the same thing happen on my 5001 Portuguese - there seems to be a soft rubber like lining on the edge of the straps which can peel off if brushed on the way through the deployant clasp - my strap is now 3 years old and doesn't do it any more and you would not know that it ever did by looking at it. Unless it gets worse, I would not worry about it too much and enjoy your watch.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Ben,
Really thanks for your understanding. I do believe that the size of the strap as well as the deployant clasp is not match and cause the soft rubber peel off. Because the deployant clasp of my Pam didn't happen like.
However, I love the watch and will try to look for another strap if it gets worse!!!
