Hi,
I've inherited this IWC from my mother's aunt. She died in 2007, so I can't ask her much about the watch. I believe it was made in the 1950's, but I am not sure. I've looked a bit to see how I can open it to see the inside, but couldn't figure it out.
How can I find out more? Any idea how I can open the case?

Hi & welcome to the forum,
The case number and movement number will assist greatly.
This can assist for vintage / older watches: http://www.moeb.ch/dyIWC/ --DateYourIWC by case and movement number (I prefer the applet version at the bottom), created by Marco Schönenberger
http://www.iwcforum.com/Vintage_Catalogs.html The Vintage Catalogs may contain your target vintage watch and provide details therein. If you go through them you may find your watch.
