Was just watching the latest video by IWC ... very poor attempt IMHO, it seems like something thrown together in a matter of minutes. I am hoping to be wrong here, but this is low-end marketing by a high-end company? Please correct me, as this is really not something that I thought to be associated with such a brand.

I thought the first couple to be good, the last presents rushed/unfinished. It is exactly the thought of potential-customer audience / opinions which disappoints me.
I think the issue is that, there isn't a conformity between how each of the lineups (Portuguese, Pilots, Portofino, etc.) are presented and marketed, which works fine for a year-long marketing campaign, that each lineup is different and unique, but when you start comparing each of the lineups in a 3 minute video, it becomes very clear how varying the marketing materials are compared to each other. Oh and Ben Clymer talks way to fast, or something, it's hard to listen to him speak.

Well, there were better IWC videos. The subject in itself is quite interesting, but in such a short time it is impossible to say something meaningful about it to whatever audience. And the presentation in this third video, well, it is a pity nobody had the courage to withdraw it.
Kind regards, Paul

These videos are for a very broad market - and not designed to be indepth cater for advanced horogical know it all experts.
I too thought the first beter than the last - but then, I do believe they all play well to the audience they are designed for.
I've seen some of the other more technical/speciality IWC clips and can tell you too, that the content, presentation and delivery were spot on too - for the more knowledgable and/or subject matter specific areas of interest.

The video breaks every old film rule about proper framing, not cutting in camera movements, not cutting in zoom, sharpness and so on. I think it is supposed to be fancy and smart but it seems as if the content has suffered.

As is often the case, I'm the odd one. I think that they were pretty good for the intended audience, i. e., people without background with watches and just beginning to develop the interest (including folks considering a good watch for the first time and perhaps unlikely to become as deranged as we are).
People who are knowledgeable in a subject often forget what it was like before they acquired that knowledge and experience. But for the people to whom those videos are directed, much of what we take for granted is new, arcane and mysterious.

Great variety of opinions once again, that's what I like about this forum. My main concern is with the poor (maybe fancy) exeution of filming techniques and partially addressed topics.

Keep in mind that these were designed mostly for a different audience than the dedicated watch fans who populate this forum.

I agree. The first one was far and away the best.
