met a very impressive collector from Asia again for the 2nd time in a couple of months @ Flagship earlier, and chanced upon this one...
this 'big statement piece'...well, sure knows how to make an entrance. Rather too colourful for me, but it is cozy and mesmerizing to see !
I tried to capture in varying lighting and background and distance perspective...
case, crown, and back...
wristshots:
a dazzling piece. a bit too much attention-grabbing than I would like, but I am very pleased I had the time to get acquainted with this piece.

shing, thanks for the many photos against different angles/backgrounds to help us better appreciate 'the gold beast'. it's classier than i thought (but how could i ever doubt iwc wouldn't execute something like this appropriately?)...

A very special edition, too noticeable for me too. My wife threatened with divorce: alas, I cannot help her on this one, I agree with her. Still, it is not tacky, it has lots of IWC written all over it. I wonder how it would look on a fitting, bit restrained golden bracelet. In my opinion this version could handle that very well. Very daring, interesting watch!
Kind regards, Paul

Hey, it worked for Hublot and AP, why not IWC? (note: that's not a compliment, folks).
Perhaps this is intended for and will appeal to those who are more attracted to IWC's celebrity tie-ins, lifestyle marketing, and "increased profile" than to the watches themselves. Or maybe it will be highly desirable to tastes I do not understand in geographies with which I am not familiar.
I do appreciate the photos, Shing. You did a good job on them.

Although.....given a choice of owning blocks of "gold bullion" or stacks in this form, at least it would be more interesting to look at when visiting the vault.
