Omar Khayyám (Persia XI-XII Century) offered that Time should not only be measured in length but also in width due to the intrinsic difference between a minute or other depending on what is happening to the beholder... I wonder how a watch would look like...

Hi Nelson. What do you mean by maybe? :-) The Mark 11 remains the perfectest pilot/navigator watch design. This is not surprising as it was designed by RAF pilots/navigators for their use to fulfill their missions. For this reason, form strictly followed function, without added gimmickry.

Gents, whilst I won't argue on the "the most perfectly designed IWC ever!" line, I would put up a counter argument that other IWC's like the original Ref. 812 Aquatimer pushed the boundaries for "form strictly followed function, without added gimmickry" and belongs right up there as an icon. What they MK XI did for Pilots, Rdf.812 did for serious divers.

Like this one from 1967?
Possible check mate? I would argue the 666 might hit the spot in terms of perfectly designed IWC ever. This is one of those delightful debates that will go on and on.
Best,
Ian.
Beautiful quartet! All in original state as far as I can see. An interesting "sort out". Did you find something else? :-)

That might have been true if the crown sealing system had worked a little more proficiently.
