Possible check mate? I would argue the 666 might hit the spot in terms of perfectly designed IWC ever. This is one of those delightful debates that will go on and on.
Do not forget that the Ref 666 was inspired in the Mark 11.

Sorry, I must disagree. I love the 812, but that credit really belongs to the early Rolex Submariner... Best, Ian.

This ref.812 causes me vertigo. That's because I enlarged it on my iPad and have been running circles around it from shear excitement.
Can't agree more that this AT is iconic. I bow to it's simplicity, form and function.
Can anyone enlighten me as to who was the main influence on the 812 creation or direct me to some documentation on it's history ?

Omar Khayyám (Persia XI-XII Century) offered that Time should not only be measured in length but also in width due to the intrinsic difference between a minute or other depending on what is happening to the beholder... I wonder how a watch would look like...
