New Collector Interview: The Scotsman
A brilliant researcher devoted to the discovery of new treatments for many diseases. A keen footballer coaching the company team of his employer Roche for several years. A watch enthusiast intrigued by the engineering beauty and precision of mechanical movements. Andrew Thomas is a dedicated man of many passions.
Even though this interview is also published in WATCH International, I'm glad it's here too. Andrew is an amazing guy, and a very much value him as a friend. That wouldn't exist without this forum and our shared interest in watches.
If you see Andrew, ask him to talk about his work at Roche. He is literally changing the world, with huge discoveries to combat diseases like Schizophrenia, altheimers and Down's syndrome. I'm fortunate to know him.

+1!
Cheers Andrew!

I was reading the Andrew's article and I couldn't agree more with this statement 'waste of time is waste of life'... Andrew Thomas- great to have known and interacted with you. See you soon!

This WI article provides a peak at a most likeable fellow IWC collector who has many friends here on the Forum. He is a unique ambassador for IWC not only with his IWC collection, but also with his affiliation with the Laureus Foundation and his ability to always be a friend whenever there are two or more collectors at a get together.
I first met Andrew in 2007 at a Collector’s meeting in Schaffhausen and at several other IWC sponsored events in CH over the next few years. Occasionally, when he comes to NJ to visit his manufacturing facility, we meet to do some watch shopping and nosh at local eateries.
Here are just a few of the pictures over the years.
My first meeting with Andrew was at SIHH in April 2007, the Year of the DaVinci.
Andrew intently previewing the Novelties at Show and Tell Time.
Our next GTG was in October 2007 at a Collectors’ Meeting in Schaffhausen.
At City Hall in Stein am Rhein, drinking from the Mayor's Cup.
Crossbow shooting experience.
Ready to shoot pictures
We met again in June 2009 in Schaffhausen at a Collector’s Meeting.
Andrew organized the Collector’s dinner, if I recall.
In February 2010 Andrew visited NYC for a mini GTG. Of course we went watch shopping and had a beer or three together.
Finally, in May 2012 Andrew visited NYC once again. We met at the NY Flagship for some IWC lovin’. He picked up a new addition to his collection of Vintage IWC when there.

I am proud to call him a true friend who richly deserves the accolades in this WI article.
Andrew, I hope to see you again in NYC and hopefully on the ski slopes in CH this winter.
