Thanks very much for your great comments - I like particulary quality watches. I have many watches but of other marks. Of course it's easier for me because I work for a famous Watch company established in the most important watch makers region. Soon with other comments.

alwaysiwc Wrote:.... The silver PW is a cal 52, not very special as IWC produced more than 300.000 pw's with a cal 52 movement. However the case is very rare and the watch has been documented in the IWC literature. On the backside is the coat armour of the Austrian-Hungarian state. This armour is a double eagle, covered by a knight's helmet. The significance of the old man with the beard, has not been clarified by IWC researchers sofar. Kind regards, Adrian, (alwaysiwc).
Thanks a lot Adrian for explaining the beautiful case!

Hi Erguel, I commented on your silver PW, telling you that until now, no IWC researcher had revealed the significance of the man with the beard. I was wrong! The expert German IWC PW collector Rolf Birkenkämper mailed me that the man with the beard is Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of book printing. There is something that troubles my mind for the last week. You stated that you inherited these watches and that you had not any clue of what they represented. For me it is obvious that the previous owner or even maybe the current owner must have knowledge of what these special IWC watches mean. They are not average, they are top of the bill. An ordinary IWC owner would not have these special IWC waches in his collection. With respect, this is my guess and just my two cents (=: Clarification from your side would be grate and do justice to the honest and prompt reply to you, of members from this Forum. Kind regards, Adrian, (alwaysiwc).

Regarding your different comments about my IWC watches I am very surprised of your comments. I thought that this forum was a forum for seeing beautiful watches and not for explain with details where and which sells this watch to me. These watches are my own property and I am very dissapointed that you means that it's not normal that I have such watches. I will cancel all pictures of my watches in your forum.
I think you may have misinterpreted what one forum member wrote. These watches were so special and that one person was simply interested in their provenance: not to question any acquisition nor to be commercial, but simply to learn more.
I hope you don't cancel anything and participate further. Thanks, and also I sent you an e-mail about this.
Here's a picture of the British Navy version.
And it's beautiful movement.
Best regards
