Hello everyone, I am new here.
Recently acquire a PD ocean 2000 and it was my dream watch for more than 20 years. It was a long story, by that time when I was still young, owning a IWC ocean 2000 was just a dream. Now, this year my dream come true. And it was the most exited toys that I brought this year.
I think what I have is the first version of the Ocean 2000 that the dial without IWC logo on it. Since I brought it used, it come with a Velcro Strap for free. However, I find out that the link between the watch head and the Strap adaptor didn't line up. I find most of the photos on net and did not find any example like this.
Is any people have a ocean 2000 with a strap adaptor like mine? Or this one actually is not for ocean 2000? Any suggestion is welcome. Please clarify me. Thanks in advance and Happy new year!

Welcome to the forum Telson.
You are correct that the connecting link from the Velcro strap isn't correct for the Ocean 2000. Perhaps Heiko is correct. I haven't seen many examples without the IWC Schaffhausn script on the dial. Congratulations on acquiring the watch of your youthful dreams.

But I never seen any example on ocean 500 with the Velcro Strap adaptor, or the ocean 500 never have one?
Also, my ocean 2000 have the first bracelet (one pin) system which dated back to early 80. However, the ocean 500 was introduced on 1994 which used the completely difference bracelet system.
About the dial without the IWC Schaffhausn script, I think it was sold through the PD’s own retail stores rather than IWC one. That is what I can find on the internet, if I am wrong, please correct me.

Hi Telson, Your watch is an IW3500. This was the first release of the Ocean 2000 and the only one to be supplied with the PD dial.I have been unable to find out if this was for PD boutiques only. No fitting links to fit a velcro strap were made for this model. Your links are from an IW3502 Ocean 500 from around 1985/1987.This had the same single pusher fitting as your 3500 but as the case was smaller in diameter, the fitting links were tapered as in your photo. The only models I can think of with links that May fit yours are the 3501 or 3509 Bundeswehr-Taucheruhr watches. Links of your single pusher design haven't been available for many years. You are very lucky to have been supplied with the ones you have. I don't think they detract in any way from the understated elegance and quality of your new watch. Leo

Hi Hebe, They look great and confirm that there must be other models out there with the same fittings. I'm really curious about the 2 photos with the yellow arrows. Is one a 500 and one a 2000? or does the crown guard signify a design change within one model? Leo

Thanks for your interest Leo.
The yellow arrows show TWO variants of the Ocean 2000, ref. 3500. On the left side is the first version and right a modified version.

Try to contact Jack Freedman, a Forum member who may be able to provide some direction on the PD links.
