It may be normal as I haven't let it run down very often, but I have noticed the last couple of times that my BP has been shelved that it is stopping when the PR needle is at the start of the red section, not the end. Crown up or face up, it doesn't matter.
I realize we cannot diagnose here but I thought the needle was supposed to run through the red section (or yellow for the lucky DFB owners) at which point there is a day reserve held back? Obvious fix is not to take it off I realize.

I have one BP which is 5004-01 has similar situation as yours while the DFB BP will park nicely at the end when it runs down.
