Thanks MF for the update, and more so for his effort with IWC team in pushing the CFW3 project forward. This is a great gesture from the brand, and let's respond with more appreciation and patience. Though my trigger has already been pulled for CFW3, it doesn't have to be my next purchase. I am looking forward to the whole new Ingenieur series revealing in SIHH.

Do you have information to support your "thoughts" ? If so please delineate them here.

I am simply observing and listening. You and I have been around here since many many years, and we all know what happened with the CFW 2. When I met Georges at the SIHH three years ago, he said that of course the selection of the DaVinci for the CF2 was a mistake and of course it would not be a problem having a CFW 3, as long as it is based on an existing model. He concluded that we collectors should come up with a proposal for such a watch. And there were two proposals, one based on the Portuguese with the Piaget calibre and one based on a Big Pilots watch.
For the relaunch of the website and the forum, the moderator of the IWC Forum (german language) told us that they were thinking and very positive about a third CFW for the relaunch of the website and the new forum. We all know what happened afterwards to the forum and therewith also to the idea. The needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before.
Producing limited editions with color variations can't be that difficult, looking at all the limited editions already existing. The only difference for a CFW is that the watch won't be sold when they start the production, as with the dealer editions. This makes it slightly less interesting for IWC to produce it.
But as stated at the beginning, I am only observing and listening, and my conclusions might be proven wrong. For those who want such a watch and can afford it, I even hope so.
David - all understood - no worries. We are all just trying to express our views in our own way in a way that is fair.
Since I wasn't here for previous forum watches, I have a question. Are they produced in a fixed number or will IWC fulfill all demand within a deadline?

They were produced in limited numbers. There was some talk, this time around, of increasing the number and after a period of time allowing sales through boutiques.
