Nice to see the new store open for business. I have a wedding in Santa Monica in February. Hmmm, a side trip is in order. Or maybe just back to Beverly Hills.

As promised, below are some photos of the blue rubber strap on my white and black-dialed 3568 Aquatimers-
Here it is on the white-dial fresh out of the packaging and before I had a chance to swap on the IWC buckle and you can see that the difference in shade is subtle between the blue rubber in comparison to the black rubber on the black-dialed 3568:
Another photo of the blue rubber on the white-dial and then on the black-dial:
A couple wristshots in natural lighting:
One last shot:
Anyway, hope this helps you Andy, along with anyone else who was curious about whether this combination would work out. I'm actually really pleased; it looks great on either color dial as already evidenced by Ben's photo above.
One thing I have to mention is that IWC must be using a new compound/formula for the rubber strap because it is extremely supple and more comfortable on the wrist than my old IWC black rubber straps which are pretty stiff compared to this.
All in all, very satisfied with this blue strap and also had a nice time at the Boutique chatting with Michael, although I was short on time and couldn't stay as long as I had hoped. I had planned a longer visit because I also wanted to check out the other Richemont Boutiques, but a huge accident on the 405N near Irvine made what should have been a 10-minute drive take 45-minutes, so didn't have much free time left once I arrived.
Another side effect from visiting the Boutique apart from scoring a new strap is now I'm seriously contemplating moving out some pieces from my current collection so I can start a "Big Pilot Fund". I'm thinking one of my Aquatimers might be the first to be sacrificed for the greater good because having two of them does seem a bit redundant, or at least that's what I'm telling myself now in order to justify moving up the IWC ladder, haha!

Hey Jerry...
Nice follow-up on the rubber strap. OK...I think I really need to get to the Boutique and check this "blue" out and feel the suppleness you describe. Lighting can really influence the true color. Was thinking that if ever a yellow strap were to be made, it would tie in nicely with the black dial, but also yellow on the white dial would "pop" that yellow arrow tip on the seconds hand.
Bas, a while back, posted a "orange" strap on his blue/orange AT Chrono. I think it was suppose to be a IWC strap but never remember reading a confirmation of that and a reference number to go by. Wonder if anyone has any info on that. Anyone with the "Fanta" AT2000 would probably love a orange strap for that.
Of course, can't say good-bye without a comment on letting go maybe of a AT for a BP. So...while they are both 3568's , the two color dials really present a whole different look. Which one would you be leaning toward to let go if necessary? I know what I would do. Take a poll from the members.. " Which would you keep ? ".

Kevin,
Thanks for posting that photo! Your shot really captures the blue much more nicely than my old point and shoot camera. And you're right, the "virus" does continue to infect even though I was planning on laying low this year with watch purchases. Reminds me of that line from Godfather III: "Just when I thought was out, they pull me back in!"
Best Regards, Jerry

Andy,
I highly recommend you drop by the Boutique when you have time and try the blue rubber for yourself; my photo skills aren't that great so the blue shade was hard to capture. The suppleness is no joke on the blue rubber strap as I'm able to flex it pretty much any direction and it complies with ease whereas the old black rubber strap feels far more rigid.
As for letting one of my 3568s go, I'm leaning towards the black/yellow because I already own other dive watches with black-dials and also because my white-dialed was purchased from my AD the weekend my second son was born back in late 2010, so it holds more sentimental value to me and was also my first IWC. The black/yellow was purchased from the same AD a few months later but was more of a spontaneous event without much symbolism and sentiment behind it as the purchase of the white-dial. Another reason is that white-dialed dive watches don't seem very common and out of the ones I've seen, IWC in my opinion, makes the nicest one.

Great ! Can't wait to see that blue on white. I too would like to have another color option for my white dial. (IWC, more colors please! )
Jerry, I spoke with Mike (mgr.) a couple of times on phone. Seems like a nice chap. Looking forward to meeting in person and touring my new "vacation home".
Regarding the blue on black dial pic by Bendy, the light reflects the blue from strap on the dial and it looks very very nice. A dark blue dial in real life for the AT I think would be well received and paired with the blue strap...a natural.
Blue dial fans....what do you think...a winner?
Thanks again Jerry for the report and upcoming shots. Heading Northbound 405 from Laguna in a few. Maybe my TL Navi will take over full control and guide me to Bristol off ramp. HELP...I've been carjacked !!
Andy Out
I have to say that the blue works very nicely. WRT other colors, didn't someone source an orange one sometime back? Seem to remember some very nice pics surfacing about six months back.

Yes....Bas Dekkers posted a orange rubber AT strap a number of months ago. It was suppose to be a OEM strap but never got confirmation or a reference number. Bas, if your out there, please advise or if anyone else can confirm it's existence, chime in.
