After reading the input from others on this topic and experiencing the need to resign onto the forum, I back away from my initial visceral reaction and accept the new layout and functionality.

boutique sales staff here in HK, and at what I understand to be their number one, and number two, points of sales globally, were also not informed of the new Ingenieur line - I had to show them the various announcements on an iPad.
If I were to rationalize this particular information dissemination - I think it is only because external parties were permitted to 'leak'. by extension of that reasoning, this forum does not constitue an externality.

"One component in an overall marketing strategy", and clearly becoming a lesser one. I've got not problem with the placement of the button/link to access the forum as long as I can access it. It is apparent, at least to me, that IWC does not view this forum as an important market component. First is the the venue IWC chose to "leak" the new Ingenieur line. Now this seemingly unimportant move. It is called "salami tactics" - one slice at a time. IWC may actually be correct........... When designing a cockpit, the most used, and the most important, switches and gauges are more accessible than those that are rarely used.

Not me. I stand behind my original statement. It's certainly no big deal to me - even if the button is moved every day I'll look until I find the access. I remain concerned about newcomers casually arriving at the site, and leaving without ever realizing there is an active Forum.

From an analytic perspective, I think it's correct that the forum is one of several marketing venues. As such I concur that it shoud be part of "experiences".
But, also --and here's where I may respectfully disagree with management-- I always have considered it a "first among equals". Other websites can have articles or do a blog, but no other manufacturer's website has a real forum, where a true community of serious watch enthusiasts had developed. That, at least to me, is a true competitive edge for IWC, and stands out in the marketplace.
I was initially flattered that the revised website had a prominent link for this forum, and then I felt that it was deserved. This community is unique in the industry, and has a huge viral impact. Making this forum harder for newbies to access by definition will reduce potential traffic.

Absolutely agree! Especially if the people are not so familiar with English it would be very hard to study all adjustments, links etc. More easy to forget then to find right way))

okay, just need to adjust to having to scroll down to bottom of any page to get to the 'collectors forum' button... simple.
