Went to my new AD and there in the window was a Portuguese Auto, 500114 to be precise. No black strap though, nor Santoni variant but a totally different strap to any I have seen on any IWC model current or past. Do dealers ever order a stock watch with unusual strap combo?

It was croc and the official colour I am guessing was brown beige which is very pale to be called brown if you search for a PDF file using a search on the web for IWC strap 2009. It reminded me more of old WW2 desert uniforms in colour. No camera with me at the time. I do have to go back at some point to collect deployant buckle for latest watch. Original pin buckle came with a defective strap where every scale of the strap on the long part was planed too close and the strap became a series of angles rather than a curve when worn. AD is organising a FOC replacement strap. Thanks to new AD.

Is that a unique OEM croc strap? If so, do you know what the color is called and a reference number?
I like it. Sometimes photo's can be deceiving with lighting and all.
Thanks,
Andy
Hi Andy,
No clue as to the reference - but if you are stateside your probably can have the online concierge service etc, that may be able to give u an online pointer.
This earlier post has all these straps in slightly different lightning:

Not quite Shing, it was almost like a skin colour, it wasn't to my taste but it might grab some. Portuguese Auto uses a 22/18mm strap, current normal production uses a deployant buckle. So using the chart previously mentioned it shows the colour options available. Wish there was an online strap update showing Santoni straps as here in the UK the options shown are brown and light brown in 3 sizes and the 2 fittings. I will see if I can grab a photo when I go back but this is a new AD for me so rapport has yet to be established.

Thanks Shing for the prompt response. Greg, will be interested to see this skin color. So many shades of skin, so many shades of straps. Pic's should do the trick.

Was it the color...material...stitching ? Any more details you can share? Could it be the "light-black" Santoni that is available for order?
or....maybe it is a 5001 that was traded in with a after market strap.
Curious,
Andy
