Yes, Im glad I did get it in the end, but I´m also sorry if I bid against you Ralph, no hard feelings. You make me feel as if I´d taken your woman !!! ( I too had hoped that no one else had spotted it. Take good care of it.)
Hajo; So I suggest that there will one addict less in the row next time. ;-)
Hajo, addiction to me is a weak mind, now do I seem weak minded to you? I´ll see you at the next auction :-)

Hi Jimmy, First of all sincere congratulations on this grail watch. As you ask about other movements from the 200-series of this watch, I might report 3. In the book of Tölke and King, a cal.52SC Deck Watch is depicted with he movement number 1014969, in the book of Meiss another cal 52SC with movement number 1014993 and I have one with movement nr. 1014988. At least to me, there is no reason to assume that there was no consecutive numbering of these watches. My theory is that (too) few have showed up until now. And I guess the hidden or lost ones will never show up. The reason for that,( again assumption) is 2-fold. Some of these Deck Watches were lost in action during WW II, the other had after WW II not more value than "any" PW: 10£ or so!. Remember that at the end of the war an IWC Mk 10 or 11 wrist watch was sold for a few pounds or was scrapped because of its Radium containing dial. British museums were so afraid of exposing watches from WW II for health reasons, that you will not find one W.W.W watch (including the IWC Mk 10)in any of the English war museums! Kind regards, Adrian, (alwaysiwc).

Congrats on your acquisition. I don´t collect vintage watches (mainly because I´m too "ignorant" and don´t think I´ll have the funds) but always loved a good story about these "machines"; hope to see more good stories from you... ;)

Hi Adrian, thanks for your reply and thank you for the other three numbers. Now we have these: 1,014,374 Bought 10.2010 in New Zealand and sold ebay 31.10.2011 1,014,869 Jimmy 1,014,949 Ian March 30, 2009 1,014,969 Tölke and King book 1,014,988 Adrian 1,014,993 Meiss Book
...But, correct me if I´m wrong, the difference from the highest to the lowest numbers would be 619, yet there were only 200 delivered! so they couldn´t have been numbered consecutively

I don´t think this has anything to do with ignorance, it´s more a matter of priority...Just keep on collecting, you´ll get there sooner or later :-)

Hmm --interesting, at least to me, that all these are within a 200 number span except for the first one. The plot thickens.

Jimmy, the first watch which you mention had non-matching case/dial and movement numbers and, in my opinion, should be discounted. I believe that these 200 watches were numbered consecutively.
