Hi Ian, yes that was my thought as well, although I still have the link to the auction, and the missing pictures of course;-) Original auction... I remember the seller well, he posted a link to the auction on just about every watch board on the planet, I also remember he didn´t post a picture of the inside caseback, I wonder why ;-) Nevertheless...the movement number is correct as far as I can see!

A RN ship and a German bomber could have exchanged fire with the two official watches having sequential serial numbers on the movement. A possibility that to me illustrates why "jaw jaw is always better than war war" to paraphrase my fellow town residents quote.

Thanks Michael and Tony, I forgot to look in K.Knirims book... We now have over 5% of the watches within 48hrs, at this rate we´ll have them all by the end of the month ;-) Strange that the first one still falls out of line!!!

I believe that could have happened if an HMS with a H.S. 3 with cal 52T S.C. 1'014'401 abord engaged a Luftwaffe bomber with a B-Uhr with cal 52T S.C. 1'014'440 aboard. BTW, jaw jaw is NOT always better than war war. If Neville Chamberlain jaw jaw a little less, and war war a little more WW II might have been quite different.
