Hi,
For some reason my 5001 is always running a bit fast, this is my first IWC, and I've never had this issue with my Rolex.
I've never let it run down to 0, it got close to 1 at one point, but I frequently wind the reserve back to full. Any ideas why a new watch would be running fast?
Other question would be, where can I reliably send to in Canada to have it fixed?

Welome to the forum Ben
How "fast ?"
It's normal that a new automatic mechanical watch needs time to equilibrate with an owner - if you search how accuracy and precision is measured this would not be a surprise to you.
I have the 5001-12 and it used to run +10 sec per day but now it is + 1 sec per week ! All by IWC magic ;-)
If you are running VERY FAST then it is perhaps a concern.
Up to +6 or +7 sec/day is considered normal. As long as you are within that range, just enjoy your watch. If not, as Andrew suggests, give it some time to settle in before determining if some attention is necessary.
BTW, your "other brand" has their watches COSC certified and COSC allows up to +6 sec/day.

I have the 5004 BP that uses the same movement and it runs fast also, but within tolerances that David suggests. It is a great watch you have so enjoy it.
Why is the power reserve running down? You should wind it fully. If worn when fully wound, the timekeeping should be optimal. As the watch winds down (which should not exist if it's fully wound and worn), the watch might run fast due to a phenomenon known as isochronism error.
