JOe I am sorry - I was responding to Michael's comment when i said I thought he had misunderstand the intention of my earlier post. I should have responded to each of your comments separately. I realize you said how could one not like that watch. The problem is that I do.. LOL... I like all 3 like you said.

Update I went back and forth in my decision. The Dornbluth ended up being a non-starter when i learned that there was no second hack. My ability to set the watch to the second is something that is important to me. I loved the watch and design.
I seriously considered a portofino hand wound or the Portuguese 7 day... .. I was really favoring that choice. Then i saw a Glashutte Observer- silver dial. I really liked the look and style. I was attempting to decide... And then I found a Glashutte Senator Chronometer Rose Gold-- preowned with a 1 year GO warranty from an AD. This is a 42mm watch. It is a bit heavy but it is gorgeous. Well that is what i went with. More than I wanted to spend but really love that watch. Perhaps next year will go for a Portuguese. I still love the IWC Pilot 3777 I purchased. I really need to stay at watches that are 44mm and smaller for my wrist.

Agree with You Michael. And the second think when I buy watch, only IWC for me of course, that I like felling that I have a piece of history on my wrist, because today's watches series in IWC have their beginning long time ago. For me the best choose is Portofino 8-Days Hand-Wound. You have impressive watch with amazing movement from new 59000 Family.

If accuracy is a topic for you, you should go for a less complicated movement and therefore I would suggest the 3714, where you really can't go wrong. Even if in the near future a version of the Chrono Automatic should be equipped with an in-house calibre, that alone would be even a reason for me to buy it now in its current version, to its current price. To my knowledge, there is no mechanic chrono movement of which more pieces were produced, and the experience in improving this movement constantly made it better in all these past decades. Hard to beat, and the watch is and remains a classic.

REgulateur IS there evidence to suggest the 3714 is really more accurate than the other caliber movements? I realize it is a bit less complicated. This is another one of my consider as in the future list.
CSIS and Michael Do you really consider Glashutte Original to be a boutique company? I understand IWC is a much bigger company and do not get me wrong I love their watches. I realize Dornbluth would be considered a boutique but not sure if you were referring to Dornbluth or GO or both?

I will not say anything more here without my lawyer - or my bodyguard *LOL*. However, simply from the fact that you can gain more expertise as you produce more pieces over a longer period of time, you can guess that the quality and accuracy is under control. My experience with IWC watches are fully in line with that.
