I guess this is more of a comment, than a question...
So I have about a 6.5" wrist I believe, and the deployant is on the 3rd notch from the end, or 5 notches from the top. My question/comment is, who would be able to wear the watch on the smallest notch? I mean, that's like for a 4 inch wrist, is that even anatomically possible for an adult? Or is my strap built for a child?
As far as I know, it's a regular length strap made for the deployant.

George,
I too have wrists on the slim side ( 6.85 ) and have a deployant "standard length" strap on my 3714. I wear mine, depending on weather conditions on the 2-3 hole from the end. I don't consider it nor does it look like to long of a strap especially when the free moving "keeper" is positioned about 3/4" from the end. I tried a short strap and it works, but it seems like there is not enough end for a balanced look.
Is your strap a true OEM "deployant" model? You probably are aware, deployant straps have different lengths than a "Pin" buckle strap and that makes a keen difference in the fitting.
Finally, and especially for the 3714, this model has a following with the ladies who find it very fashionable and just the right oversize diameter for the female wrist. In addition, there are many shades of croc straps available exclusively for the 3714 ( not that you couldn't use it on any 20mm lug size ). With stylish colors such as orange as well as other unique shades, this has contributed to the attraction of the 3714 women find appealing. So...the last couple of holes toward the end of the strap are positioned perfectly for fitting the female wrist.
I'm confident the strap was not made intentionally for a child, but no law says a kid couldn't wear one, except their peers would be very very jealous of it not to mention the AMG that daddy and mommy drive them to school in.
Anybody family out there like that? If so....I'm up for adoption.
Thanks for the answer, yeah as far as I know my strap is the standard length for the deployant, got the watch brand new from an AD. I guess you're right there are no laws against children wearing the watch ;) and thanks for the explanation, I guess it just didn't seem physically possible to wear the watch on the very last hole, as that would imply a 4" wrist if not smaller, but i guess it's possible! IWC is so thoughtful lol

The same applied to watch straps. The last hole is not there to fit a child, but rather to appear balanced in fit.
Michael, thanks for the lesson on etiquette! I didn't know it was applied to watches as well :)
Now that you bring up balance, it makes a lot of sense, I figure if I lose another 10 pounds I should be able to use that middle hole.
