The 8541's I have owned, including three YC's, are among the most accurate watches I have ever had, even at 40+ years old. They go weeks at a time between adjustments.
They were retired due to the quartz crisis, and I suspect never revived due to their 'odd' beat rate. Truly a shame.
They were joined by a Yacht Club recently so I am thinking there is a bit of a compulsion for 8541b "engines" developing!
I am not sure about the case profile on my 1828 and would be interested to see any others the forumers can show for comparison.
Apologies for the dust etc on the pics as my watch photography is a developing process.
Cheers
Richard

you're perfectly right!
8541 in Inge 866 is the greatest combo and represents a true peak in watchmaking - from any aspect.
Nice weekend
