Michael Friedberg Wrote:Just a few more photos of the IWC booth
Here's the entrance from outside: It's an imposing presence. The turbines you see in back are rotating.
Here's the reception desk. The receptionists are all multi-lingual. The lady on the left, Alessandra, has been doing this for years. She's from Schaffhausen but now lives in Italy, and has become a Facebook friend.
I also made a panoramic shot inside the booth. It doesn't show well due to its size, but I thought it still might be worth sharing:
Michael,
Thanks for showing us a glimpse of the action taking place. All of us " stay at homers" appreciate following along through the eye of the camera and the narrative of those in attendance.
BTW, thank you for introducing Receptionists 6, 7, 8. If possible, please track down ladies 1-5. They enhance those new Ing's on their wrists beautifully.
Watches are in trays in cabins for retailers to see. For collectors, we have a "touch and feel" presentation for about an hour. Sometimes, rare models are excluded. For example there are only two Constant Force models, only one of which is available for handling, and sometimes it might be claimed elsewhere.
There are more celebs this year. I don't know by name some of the European or Asian TV or recording or sports stars, nor some of the Formula one people. But the list includes Becker, Figo, Nemov, Zindane and the dinner is hosted by Kevin Spacey. Also Adriana Lima, Emily Blunt, Karolina Kurkova, Rebecca Grayhart, Jean Reno, Ewan McGregor, John Helliwell, etc. they'll be at the booth on Tuesday and the big party Tuesday night.

Traditionally, there is a dinner sponsored by IWC as part of the Collectors' Day activities. We usually are fortunate to have a lot of top people from IWC attend, including Kurt Klaus, Hannes Pantli, Karl-Heinz Baumann (the CEO), Sefan Ihnen (technical director), and several others.

My favorite 'celebrities' at SIHH are our collectors and you, cameras in hand, bringing all the watches and events back to us...living vicariously through our computer screens!

Wish I was there,

Thanks for the update, great work.
Just wondering, do they allow any guest to try on the watches or only selected VIPs ? Which famous celebrity has IWC invited this year?
Hope to be there next year.
Cheers!
