Further to this official announcement in August last year, I had a chance finally to see this up close: http://www.iwc.com/forum/en/discussion/58246/
Museum Curator David Seyffer was kind enough to spend a few hours in the morning with me. The research done by Mark (the hall-marking among many other things), as well as the records (including invoices or receipts or ledger entries of cooking pans) discovered by David, makes the background of Black Beauty No 22 a scintillating find. One might assume the black makes this a typical gun-metal case found in many early pocket watches, but it is not.
Great stuff my friend. Thanks for sharing your Black Beauty with the rest of us.

thanks shing... while you were there did you have any discussions regarding the master shing wing too!?! certainly you've got plenty of rare birds now that they don't even have!

Thanks Shing for highlighting again "Watch 22" - its such a beautiful piece, it should be shared.
Now in all seriousness whilst I'm truly honored with the fact that my watch is on display there - of course this corner of the museum is now officially know as "collectors corner" and we all await the unavailing of the next Collectors Watch - and interesting story that goes alongside it!
Send in your "offers" Ladies and Gents, Collectors Corner and pride awaits you!

But make sure you get the name correctly...it is the Levinsohn Wing. LOL I think it is a terrific tribute to Mark and his knowledge of these watches.
