Clemens - in reality, "shooting in b&w" means that the camera will do the conversion. The sensor is capturing rgb data - any b&w is a conversion. My feeling is that it's better to use software to do the conversion after the fact than to have the camera do it in real-time.

Do you actually shoot in B&W? I haven't checked if my camera has this option.
