Hello my Friends-IWCHOLICS. I know that I'm young at this forum and I'm not a big boss...even not the smallest boss so I don't want that anyone would think that I want set any rules for this forum. But I think that we should make some "Our little glossary of abbrevations" about everything in IWC (movements, models etc.) I know that for someone that idea could be so strange, but for new members of our forum, for members who don't speak English well or just for us, when we'll forget any abbrevation it could be so helpful. I would like You to write one, the most important abbrevation in Your opinion. Maybe I'll start: PPC-Perpetual Calendar

I always suggest checking the archives. Also, please consider avoiding subject titles in ALL CAPS. It's the Internet equivalent of SHOUTING. Thanks.
Good idea to have a FAQ area! Any news when it will/can be established?
CISIU: I understand your frustration. I once worked for NATO and we got a large document containing abbreviations alone. ;-) Unfortunately it is so tempting to use them. W.r.t. models and ref. numbers. The current models are always displayed at IWC's website as you know. For older models you can browse the archives. There are various excellent sites out there providing extensive overviews of IWC watches, not only including specs but also images of catalogs. I am sure you will find some links to these sites if you browse the archives (in fact, browsing the archives is part of the fun of learning about IWC watches; there is an incredible amount of information available). I used to have a list of sites in a file but unfortunately I lost that file and I do not want to risk missing important sites if I just mention a few.

Good luck in your quest for knowledge.

Peter, I don't if You understand me. When I said "abbrevations" I'm not talking about ref. numbers, but about abbrevations that we use so often on forum, for example shortcut of models name.

I didn't see that topic, Michael. So it's my oversight. About all caps, I didn't know about that, Thank You for this valuable hint

My mistake: I mixed up your post and one of the posts in the thread that Michael was referring to!
