I'm on a brief business trip to South Beach, Miami. Had the chance to stop into the IWC Boutique at the Bal Harbor Shops.
This is the second Boutique visit for me within the week - last WED I was in NYC and stopped by the Flagship to talk to Arnaud about the new Ingenieurs and pick up a new strap.
Seems like the Bal Barbor Boutique is off to a solid start. Staff is busy there. They were finishing up a Portuguese Chronograph sale as I came in - and I learned shortly after, they sold a Platinum Portuguese Tourbillon Mystere Retrograde Date, just less than an hour prior.
Store manager Andrew and his Sales consultant, Nelson were a blast to speak too. Very enthusiastic guys and really psyched about the product and managing client relationships.
I could not resist Nelson's persuasion to just try on a few watches. Great looking space among a sea of fantastic luxury boutiques. This Boutique is set up with current generation of decor and merchandising, like the Flagship and Las Vegas Wynn location.
I took a few messy iPhone photos during my visit - I'll follow up with some more photos I have...

Just a few more iPhone photos from the visit - Nelson and Andrew, Sales Consultant and Store Manager talked about the rich resource of information they get from collectors - like Franz Mattes Pilot editions site - and I showed them Cellar's pages and a few more - they loved it.
Here are a few pieces they encouraged me to test drive... so tempting...

Thanks for the beautiful report and pictures Ardoise. It's nice to hear the boutique members like the information posted by collectors. I wonder how many regularly read this forum.

The St Regis is a beautiful hotel. Nice picks from the hotel and from the IWC boutique. My wife and I were just down there about two months ago. We unfortunately missed a VIP celebration at the boutique by one day! Couldn't be a more apropos place for an IWC store.

Richard - but none of those watches you wore were ARDOISE!!! Thank you for the report. I find it especially interesting to see that the selection of watches you'd find there differs a lot from what you typically would find in Europe.

Thanks for the post. Without a proper IWC boutique here in London, it's always nice to live vicariously through these boutique visit posts.
So what were your thoughts of the ones you tried? For some strange reason the 'Mr T' big pilot gets more and more intriguing the more I see photos of it.
