Hi All, i am new to the IWC Forum, i have the chance of purchasing a CALIBER 73 IWC INTERNATIONAL 17J MOVEMENT, SWISS MADE 44 MM CASE WITH SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL TOP AND BOTTOM.CUSTOM MADE WATCH

the seller advises me that it is a rare piece, now although i have a passion with watches, my expertise for such a watch is i have to say limited
the price on offer is £780.00
i would like to know as much as possible about the movement so any help would be very much appreciated

I'm not Cliff, but I think the word "married" is quite polite for pieces like this. It may be an IWC movement, but the dial (which bears the IWC name and script font "logo") and case were not made or even sold by IWC. In that regard, I think the proper word is fake.
Is it worth it? Most collectors and IWC afficianados won't touch these pieces. But someone must be - they keep pouring forth, like sewage from a too large pipe.
