Hello everyone, This is my first post on the forum and I would like to say hello to all the IWC collectors! I have been visiting this forum for a while now since I too have a real passion for IWC time pieces… My collection includes: an IWC Aquatimer "Cousteau Divers" Edition - Ref- 3548-06 and an IWC top gun chrono 3880 (I love everything about this watch.. yes, even the multiple date you all despise so much :)) (also a few others in my collection including a Rolex SS Daytona, and 2 breitlings..). Will send pics once I get icloud stream to work...
Now for my inquiry I am currently in NYC for work and have visited the great IWC boutique store on Madison. I was looking for a classier strap option for my top gun and they offered me the big pilot leather strap (In black)... which seems like a good idea but the lady at the store said that neither she nor any of her colleagues have seen this combination before. I personally think that it’s a good match but would like some of your opinions on this combo? Thanks

Black belt with black shoes -- absolutely. But requiring a black belt and shoes with a black watch strap is IMHO too calculating. Be wild, free, devil-may-care. Look convention in the eye and laugh.

OK, but is it acceptable if my socks still don't match each other?

It didn't.. I got the Portuguese auto strap in black, way more elegant than the pilot leather. Looks great! thx

I've been living life on the edge, sometimes even wearing a brown strap with black shoes and belt. I feel that I've been set free. ;)

Sure Dick, it's fine if the socks don't match. You can always use "color blind" as a fallback.
Mixing colors is far better than unknowingly leaving your "fly" down. Color blindness won't work on that one.
