My awesome wife surprised me with an 18k rose gold Portuguese automatic (7 day reserve) about 7 years ago. Recently it started running way too fast when wound, and the crown would totally come off when setting the time. So it obviously needs serviced. Can anyone recommend a reputable place that will get it looking and running like new again, without costing me a small fortune?

Hi, I would suggest you drop it off at an AD or IWC boutique. Since 5001 is an in-house movement, it is better to be serviced by IWC. I don't think it will cost a fortune. Have a great week ahead.

Love your wife's choice of watch, consider yourself very fortunate but you no doubt already know that. Agree with KS and I would have to add its the only correct solution. By the way if there are only the slightest of scratches on the case then you can in the accompanying letter request no case polishing! If its only a service that's needed then hopefully you will have it back inside of a few weeks.
