Maybe I've missed something but I recently noted that the Mission Earth is included in the current collection of Inges on the website.
I'm almost certain that it wasn't listed initially after the new models were announced at SIHH, in fact I recall some posts saying the ME now looked an even more attractive investment when compared with the new releases partly as it joined the discontinued list.
Given the recent and very interesting discussions on the relative merits and preferences for ingenieurs to retain anti-magnetic properties and the importance (or otherwise) of in-house movements, I thought this interesting as the ME boasts one of the most rugged IWC movements produced - 80110 - and sports a faraday cage.
I would be interested to know if a) the ME was always there but my age affected eyesight missed it or whether a decision was made to reinstate it to the current collection

A very interesting observation Peter, thanks for pointing it out. I also wonder which collection supersedes which, as all the previous Big Inge's etc., are included in the 'Watches From IWC 2012/2013' catalogue (which was only published in June 2012 I believe), but not in this IWC website 'Collection'. Anyway, I think it is great if the ME 3236 is going to be retained.

Thanks Dave, I had the same question in mind also.
If the ME has been re-admitted to the current collection I am most interested in the extent to which forum discussions may have influenced that decision - but perhaps we will never know!

It reminds me of when Coke introduced New Coke and then re-introduced the original coke under the title Coke "Classic". I was very disappointed when it seemed that it had been dropped from the collection. Marketing ploy or not I'm really glad the ME has remained part of the current collection.

Yes, it is definitively back, it seems, that is great news to me. You apparently appreciate it when you miss it. Hopefully there will once be a titanium version, also with the antimagnetic cage and on a titanium bracelet: that really would be a light and fitting successor to the 3227 AMG.
Kind regards, Paul

It was definitely not mentioned at SIHH and seems, to me at least, to be somewhat in competition to the new 40mm version. Has it been confirmed to intentionally be back in the collection?

Many thanks for any thoughts
