After a spa treatment in Schaffhausen, my beloved PPC has been returned to me in a better condition than when I first bought six years ago. I am utterly amazed at the quality of the workmanship from the experts in Schaffhausen. There was little damage to the case as I am very careful with my watches, but now it is perfect.
It was running fast when it was sent back and one of the moon phase disks had a fingerprint on it since its birth. I don’t know if the disk is now pristine as one of the moon disks is still hidden from view. I will know in a day or two as well how it is keeping time.
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you the wonderful work that was done on this most beautiful Portugieser. Pardon the duplicate shots, but I am so happy I wanted to share all of the quick and dirty shots from my basement photo lab. It’s clear to me seeing the photos I need a new strap, perhaps a Santoni.
The NYC IWC Boutique handled the logistics of the service with equal professionalism. Thanks, Patrick and Andre.

Magnificent pictures Bill, I am glad to see you have it back and it looks pristine indeed!
I have one question though about how you have the strap inserted in the folding clasp. A while ago, I saw this on a watch from Andrew too, where the strap is under more stress than needed. It's hard to explain so I will take a picture when I have put the kids to bed.

Looks like new, Bill. Beautiful. Great photos too! Of course you're faced now with the dilemma of keeping the watch pristine or wearing it. I think I now the answer. Enjoy and thanks for the post, Peter
Congratulations Bill! It looks fantastic. You must feel like it's new watch day -- always one of the best days of the year.
The PPC is very special. There's something about the dial design that is just captivating. I don't generally go for gold watches but I love your PPC. I also don't usually go for blue dials all that much but I lust after the blue PPC. That design transcends materials and grabs me.

Congrats on getting this beautiful piece back Bill, I can assure you I know exactly how you feel. Next time I am state side we will need to make sure that there is a PPC wrist shot or 3 and make sure there is a bit of blue in the mix as well (nudge nudge Kevin). Keep up the great photos as well, based on the last few months it looks like you are enjoying your camera almost as much as your watches - good subject matter does go a long way though. Cheers, Ben
