The 3536 Aquatimer had been on my ‘to purchase list’ for some time, ever since trying on the steel version many years ago. While I had never seen the titanium version in the flesh, I had always thought from the photos I had seen, that it looked quite plain and dull.
I undertook a bit of research and the general consensus was that the titanium version was the quintessential IWC tool watch. The more I read, the more I began to see what the appeal was and the pioneering use of titanium use by IWC. I didn’t realise that it was an extremely difficult material to fashion.
So I was now in a conundrum, titanium or steel. Do I pull the trigger, I still had strong doubts, my heart said steel but only just, however the offer was too good to pass up, time to go with the head.
I shouldn’t have worried, wow what a watch, I love the understated look, the light weight and the purposeful appeal of titanium. The dial and hands while simple are engaging even without the applied markers and steel hands of the steel version. Every time I put it on I’m grinning. Lucky my BP has a seven day reserve.

Congrats Andrew - the 3536 is an iconic Aquatimer in my opinion - a great looking watch that is unique in its presentation, Ihave had and still do have one of these on my most wanted list. Wear in good health!

Congratulation in your new acquisition. It is really a good looker.
I must say it has one of most comfortable bracelet you can get.
I was in the same dilemma as I had the opportunity to get either the black or white dial.
But to pay the price equal to the launch price holds me back to pull the trigger.
Omar Khayyám (Persia XI-XII Century) offered that Time should not only be measured in length but also in width due to the intrinsic difference between a minute or other depending on what is happening to the beholder... I wonder how a watch would look like...

Still pondering......
If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me!
That is certainly a very special watch!
