Dear IWC'ers,
this vintage IWC has been in my family for a long time and we would like to know what model it is and how much do you think it's still worth. Not that we're selling it, though.
The watch has been purchased new in early 1960s from Finland. The diameter is approximately 45 mm.

Ref. 5200 or Ref. 5300 depending on the movement inside (c.95 or c.97)
Feel free to search the forum. It's a self service "shop" and you can find lot of valuable information.
(I start to find it boring when the forum used as a medcine station: Sitting down, help me! We shoud cool down and keep it as it is handled in other Web forums: first inform you yourself and search, when you dont find a way then ask.)
regards
Ralph

Here's another example.
Now, for our newcomers - would you care to explain please what it is that makes a Pocket Watch qualify as a frackuhr?
Hi Mark, a "Frackuhr" is smaller is size, diameter, has a particularly more flat design because the watch has to be worn in the close-fitting waistcoat. A simple classic pure design, no complications. Strictly conventionally speaking you do not wear a wrist watch when wearing a tail-coat.

The dial is superb, with those embossed cardinals, it really deserves to be kept in the family :)
As for the price, could it be approximately € 1,5-2K?
Hmmmmm. We have to discuss if we indicate the price you can buy (or sell) such a watch or the value you give it as family piece. The indicated price range is probably true for a fully revices 18k watch, but unserviced in steel? It is true, when you check a common market place, you find many watches for this price, but I have not seeen one sold for such a price.

My educated guess is the hands have been replaced throughout time :)
