I am going to a Black Tie event tomorrow. Reading the etiquette books, it is noted men should not wear a wristwatch to avoid looking at a watch to tell time. Apparently, that will annoy the host. My opinion, that's BS. I want to wear a watch, but which one? I have narrowed it to two. Which would you select?
This might be a winner. It is slim and its black dial will go nicely with the Tux.
However, I have a love affair with the PPC. It may be a bit flashy, but it has my heart.
It's nearly a full moon. Sharing this complication with fellow attendees could be a great conversation piece.

I have a similar love affair with your PPC, but feel the the black dial goes better with a tux. I also think the slimmer case will fit better under the cuff of your tux shirt.
Best regards, Jim

Your PPC fresh from its spa would be my choice but your VC Portofino is not incorrect, anything else slim like a Portuguese Jubilee? Actually Bill are you wearing studs and cuff links, if so you need a watch to match. This may require a new purchase. A fine platinum model perhaps like a HW Portuguese or the like.

I vote for the black dial, thinner Portofino.
LOL. Guilty, I suppose. I sit on the Board of several non profit organizations. Tomorrow I am at a Black Tie Gala for a major hospital group in my market on whose Board I serve.
I lean toward the Potofno too. It's slimness and stunning black dial will go we'll with a Tux regardless of what Ms. Manners says.

What about a different approach: wear the Vintage Portofino with the movement side up! That way you can't look at it to tell the time but I assure you that it will be a great topic for conversations!
Kind regards,
Clemens
PS: you could also buy a black dial Pure Classic just for this event. At least you have an excuse! You might even try to declare it at the non-profit organisation, it will surely reduce their profits :-)

What's your advice?

I vote for the PPC regardless of the occasion.
Enjoy

You come from nothing, you go back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!
